// TRANSMISSION 001 // AI BUILT FOR OPERATORS

We don't
pitch AI.
We ship it.
In 21 days.

My Thought Partner is an AI builder — not a consultancy. We work with B2B services operators to kill the administrative backlog (proposals, reports, follow-ups, the "if I had time…" list). Most builds ship in 21 days. Never more than 6 weeks. Proof is in the work.

EP. 00 // WHO'S BUILDING THIS

Meet your thought partner.

You're hiring a person, not a brand. Here's who shows up on the call.

Michael David Davis

MDD · Founder · Builder-in-residence

Hi, I'm MDD. I've built orgs across retail, hospitality, nonprofit, specialty governance, and CPG. For the last two years I've been hyperfocused on AI — every model, every trend, every shipping pattern. My tool of choice is Claude Code, because it fits any org at any skill level. I don't sell decks. I ship working software with you in the room.

"Working with MDD is like business therapy."

EP. 01 // THE GAP EP. 02 // WHICH OPERATOR ARE YOU?

Which one are you?

Three operators we build for. Pick the one that stings. We named the actual pain — and the actual solve.

01

"I know how. I just don't have the hours."

The pain you're actually feeling

You've identified five admin workflows that could be AI'd — the proposal generator, the weekly partner report, the post-engagement follow-up template. You've started three. Zero are finished. Every Monday morning the same proposal still gets written by hand because something more urgent ate the hour. The opportunity cost is the worst part — you can see the wins you're not capturing.

What we actually build for you

You direct, we build. After the Intake we scope your highest-value half-finished workflow — the one that's been on the list for six months — and ship it end-to-end in 21 days. Fixed fee. You keep running the firm. We keep your hands off the keyboard.

Your path: Intake → Build →
02

"I've played with ChatGPT. The rest scares the heck out of me."

The pain you're actually feeling

You've watched peers post LinkedIn wins. You've typed "write me a status update for the Henderson account" and got something so generic you rewrote it from scratch. You closed the tab. The recurring reports, the monthly digest, the QBR prep — they all still happen by hand because the alternative sounds like another full-time job. You're embarrassed to ask "what's the difference between Claude and ChatGPT" in front of your team.

What we actually build for you

Two calm hours, side by side, building one real thing in your business that saves you time tomorrow. The Cohort if you want the group experience ($250); the Intake if you want it 1:1 ($497). Either way: no quiz, no jargon, no slides. You walk out with one working artifact and a plain-English map of what's next — or what to skip.

Your path: Cohort or Intake (start here) →
03

"I'm in it daily. I'm iterating, not amplifying."

The pain you're actually feeling

47 tabs open. A prompt library no one else reads. You've built 11 automations and seven have died — rate limits, schema changes, model swaps. You're the AI person, which means you're a single point of failure who can't take a real vacation. The team loved the demo of the weekly digest builder and now they ask you to run it every Friday.

What we actually build for you

Architecture pass + Operating System build. We audit your one-off wins, rebuild the keepers into a modular AI Operating System the whole team can run, and document it so you stop being the bottleneck. Change management included. Six weeks max, and you get your Fridays back.

EP. 03 // THE LADDER

Four rungs. Two ways in.

Start in The Cohort (group, in-person) or The Intake (1:1). Both ship one real artifact in 2 hours. From there: The Build (21 days) or The Operating System (up to 6 weeks). No one skips rungs without a damn good reason.

Work-Based Learning Alliance (WBLA)

Scope: 16 feature areas · 132+ Apex classes · 26 active flows · 9 custom objects · 13 LWC bundles · 5 Experience Sites · Slack-to-Salesforce bot · LWR training portal · multi-stage object rename
6 weeks

actual delivery · vs 6–12 months at a typical US boutique agency · 8–10 months at offshore mid-market · 21–28 months at offshore basic

$258–516K

US boutique agency benchmark for the same scope (mid ~$350K) · cited against 51 published 2026 SF agency rate sources

distinct feature areas shipped end-to-end · 132+ Apex classes · 64+ test classes (~50% test ratio) · all live in production

WBLA — a nonprofit running mentorship and work-based learning programs across multiple cohorts — needed a full custom Salesforce ops platform. The kind of scope a US boutique agency quotes at $258K–$516K with a 3–5 person team over 6–12 months. MTP delivered it solo in 6 weeks, at a fraction of the cost, with every system owned by the client. Selected ships: a Slack /meeting-notes and /daily-list bot wired through Vercel into Salesforce (~6 hours/week recovered team-wide); a full reporting overhaul across four audience views (Teacher/Admin/Client/Advisor); a custom Mentor Pipeline with intake + matching engine; the Advisor Checklist & Accountability System (template-driven, break-week-aware, multi-program — one schema covers 6 program types × 3 cohort lengths × 2 delivery modes); a WBLA Training Site (auth LWR + LWC + Apex); Advisor View audit logging + quarterly URL refresh cron; and a multi-stage Client → Partner vocabulary rename across object/field API + ~30 LWC references + 5 Apex classes with zero downtime. No retainer. No 80-page deck. Just shipped systems.

EP. 05 // HOW WE BUILD

How an engagement actually runs

Same rhythm at every rung — just deeper. No slide-deck theater. No off-shore black box. You see the work because we do it next to you.

01

Listen

We sit with the people doing the work. The admin pain is almost never where leadership expects.

02

Map

Workflows on the wall. Time, cost, pain per step. AI fits get marked. Non-fits get marked too.

03

Build & pilot

Smallest viable build with the people who'll use it. Measured against the Intake baseline.

04

Roll out & tune

Training, SOPs, role updates, comms. Then we tune for 30+ days against the metrics that matter.

EP. 06 // THE NUMBERS

What "good" actually looks like

Honest ranges. We won't promise miracles. We will promise to measure against the baseline.

21d

typical ship time on a Build — never more than six weeks, money back if we miss

30–60%

time reduction on document-heavy, repetitive workflows after a Build — measured, not estimated

2–4×

throughput on inbound triage & routing once a real agent (not just a prompt) is in production

EP. 07 // F.A.Q.

Common questions

If yours isn't here, ask in the form below — we'll answer before any sales pitch.

Are you an AI consultancy?

No. We're an AI builder. The difference matters: a consultant sells you a strategy deck. We build the actual working thing, in your business, in 21 days. Strategy work is included where it's needed to ship — never as the deliverable.

What's "ships in 21 days" actually mean?

A Build engagement ships a working, in-production workflow in 21 calendar days from kickoff. If it takes longer, we eat the difference up to 6 weeks. Past 6 weeks: it's not a Build, it's an Operating System engagement and we re-scope.

I'm honestly intimidated. Am I going to feel stupid?

No. Our job in the first hour is to keep the overwhelm low enough that you actually want to come back. We slow down where you need it, we don't quiz you, and we'll happily say "honestly, I don't know — let me look into it before next session." You're not supposed to know this stuff. That's the whole reason we're here.

What's the difference between the Cohort and the Intake?

The Cohort is a 2-hour group classroom in person — capped at 20 operators to keep the right mix of individual attention, group interaction, and peer learning. $250. The Intake is a 2-hour 1:1 session — $497 standalone. If you attend the Cohort and want the Intake too, you pay an additional $250 at the end of class (instead of $497) — saving $247 and walking away with 4 total hours of custom build time on your business: 2 in the Cohort, 2 1:1 in the Intake. You leave with both a group project and a custom build.

I already use AI every day. Do I really need you?

If you're still doing the same prompt copy-paste dance every Monday morning, yes. The Operating System exists for builders who are iterating instead of amplifying — we turn your one-off wins into a system the rest of the team can run without you in the room.

Do we have to commit to all four rungs?

No. The Intake (or Cohort+Intake) is the only gate. After that, each rung is a complete deliverable. You earn the next rung by needing it. Half our clients stop after the first Build.

What about the team? They're nervous about being replaced.

Reasonable concern, and the most common starting condition we see. Change management is baked into the Build engagement and a major component of the Operating System — comms plans, role redesign, re-skilling paths so the AI becomes leverage for your people, not a threat to them.

Will you lock us into your tools or take vendor kickbacks?

No to both. You own every prompt, SOP, and integration. We pick tools that fit your existing stack and budget and we don't take referral fees — if a vendor is the right fit, we'll tell you; if they're not, we'll tell you that too.

How do you handle data privacy?

NDA on day one. We default to your tenant for any AI tooling, scrub PII from prompts before testing, and document data flows before any build. If a vendor's data policy isn't acceptable, we route around it.

Why "Gen X"? Is this an age thing?

It's a posture thing. We've seen the dot-com cycle, mobile, cloud, and crypto. We know which parts of a tech cycle compound and which are noise. You're getting a builder who's skeptical of hype by reflex — exactly the partner you want for a technology this loud. Default: against the grain.
